SiriusXM on TV / SiriusXM.com TV” — i.e. using SiriusXM’s streaming service via a television? If so, here’s how it works, and what you might do:
SiriusXM allows users to stream their content (audio, and also video clips, interviews, etc.) via smart TVs, connected media devices, and streaming platforms.
The “TV version” is not a traditional broadcast TV channel, but rather the SiriusXM app installed on your smart TV / connected device.
On certain platforms, SiriusXM includes video content (clips, interviews, performances) in addition to audio. For example, VIZIO smart TVs via the SXM App can stream 13,000+ pieces of SiriusXM video content.
Comcast (Xfinity) has integrated the SXM App into X1, Flex, and XClass TVs, making SiriusXM content directly available.
Here are general steps and considerations to use SiriusXM on your TV:
Check if your TV / device is supported
SiriusXM supports many smart TV platforms (Samsung, LG, Sony, etc.) and media devices (Roku, Fire TV, Android TV).
Install the SiriusXM / SXM app
From your TV’s app store (e.g. via Samsung’s app store, Google Play on Android TV, Roku channel store, etc.), install the SiriusXM/SXM app. Log in or activate
Use your SiriusXM username/password. Sometimes the app gives an activation code which you enter at siriusxm.com/tv or via the activation link.
Choose or subscribe to a streaming plan
If you don’t already have a streaming plan, you may need to subscribe via the app or online. The plan you choose determines which channels / features you get via the TV.
Navigate content
Once logged in, you can browse music channels, talk, sports, podcasts, video content (if supported), etc.
